Pc memory

As well as its many other problems, my computer has decided that it has now ran out of memory. Just b4 it flashed up thatit had 157mb and now its just flashed up that it has 1mb!! I havent downloaded nothing else and have practically nothing on it! Any suggestion? Thanks

clear out your temp internet files and cookies to free up some space. You could also run a search for *.tmp on your hard drive. The * acts as a wildcard and it will find all .tmp files on your hard drive so you can delete them.

Thanks dude, done a search for that, they will be just temp internet files will they? i dont wanna delete any of my brother downloanded songs (sorry im a bit blonde at this)

Yeah, anything with a .tmp extension is deletable without any worries.

Sometimes windows reads the volume incorrectly. It'll say you have a different amount of free space to what you actually have. It migt be wise to defragment the hard drive too. Click start then accessories then sytem tools and then disk defragmenter. This will take ages and it's best not to be using your pc whilst it is running. Try running it overnight. I would reccommend that you download the trial copy of HREF="Diskeeper." target="_blank">http://www.executive.com/diskeeper/diskeeper.asp?ad=go13">Di skeeper. This is much better than the Windows default one.
