Please will someone have a look at this on Ebay. If I buy it, can I plug it into a laptop, enabling me to surf the net when I am away from home?

Would I have to also pay a fee to an internet provider? Sorry to sound so stupid - it's because I am stupid as far as computers go.

Thanks y'all.x

All this does is make a pc or laptop wifi compatible so it will connect to your own wireless network.

Most laptops today are already wifi enabled.
Sorry, I didn't explain it very well.

It will also enable you to connect to wifi hotspots whilst you are out and about - some are free, most you pay for.

If your laptop is already wifi enabled it is useless to you
Interesting Ethel....where are these hot spots and how are the accessed?

Many thanks for that, Ethel. Thought it sounded very cheap for what we want to do!

terambulan - Macdonalds and Village hotels all have free hotspots. I think Starbucks may have them too.

Others can be found at airports, libraries, bars .... often you have to pay buy 'pay as you go'. You buy credit online from OpenZone or The Cloud.

Both of those sites will show you where the paid hotspots are.
