cant play dvd

my pc cannot play dvd`s. on media player or divx is there another format of player out there?

DVD's use a commercial CODEC that isn't installed in windows as standard (it normally gets installed when you buy and install DVD software)

The media player essential codec pack will let you play DVD's but you will have to use the included media player classic.

I use VLC Player. It seems to play everything I give it.More versatile then Windows Media Player.
