If this is any help, the engineer told us that it costs less to order a box office film through sky active (your remote control) than over the phone because of admin costs or something. Won't the cost just be added to your monthly bill?

Ah right! I get ya now. If your phone line isn't active then I doubt very much you'll be able to receive the movie. As Nat says, you can call them and get it that way. Their number is under the list ph phone numbers in their 'services' button on your remote (or thereabouts, I'm at work (unfortunately) and would need to look at the remote to tell you exactly LOL)
We had to have a BT line installed in order to get Sky (we only had NTL before that) and so we are contracted to BT for the first 12 months. When I spoke to Sky about their phone service (which we receive) we had to wait a few days for their call service to go active, even though our line was working and we were being charged through BT. Could it be there is a fault with the line from BTs end? Am I confusing the matter further? LOL
we have always had the socket, so the sky man plugged in the sky box, but we have never had it activated, we live in rented accomodation so therefore the people before us im sure had a phone line, but it was diconnected when they moved... there is no dailing tone either, we plugged in our new phones last night
Sky gives you 50 credit so you can still order their services such as Box Office in the event of the phone lines going down. Details of everything you order will be stored on your digibox and when it is plugged into an active phone socket it will upload the transactions for billing purposes. You will then be charged for all content you have bought.
