RE AOL lost my address book!
2 Answers
A friend lost her entire AOL address book and emails since 2001 (!) when she upgraded her AOL broadband to a faster speed and wireless AOL broadband last week. She was given no warning that this would happen so had no idea she should back up her valuable data and other files -
including her "favourites" which she used for research for doing her family tree ....all those files have gone too.
Her biggest concern obviously is her lost address book and I wonder if any of you out there have experienced this and could help please.

If you can some how revert to the original versin of AOL you had all your data stored on, perhaps on another computer, the information should reappear.
You can then copy it and send it to yourself as an email at your new aol site.
This can then be opened and draged and dropped where needed.
I know this seems long winded but it worked for me.
Best of luck!

Hi there - many thanks for your suggestion. I have now handed on the info and let's hope she manages to find her old system....I wouldn't have a clue myself but it sounds very possible and if nothing else this experience will teach her to keep a copy of all things valuable. Let it be a lesson to all of us! Thanks again, BIGDOGY
