Nokia Text Message Tone

I have a Nokia mobile and every time you send a text, it responds with text message alert tone when it has been sent! I know that this is standard to Nokias but wondered if there was any way to turn it off?? Can't find anything in the settings but wasn't sure if it was just me being a technobimbo :-))

I've had loads of different Nokias and I've never heard of a Nokia doing this, are you sure it's the standard?
Suggest you turn off delivery reports, that's the only thing I can think of. They normally arrive as a quick flash on the screen to say that it has arrived at the recipient but the software may be confused and so could be sending you an alert tone instead

So you're getting a delivery report?

To switch that off go to

- Messaging - Options - Text Message - then scroll down to delivery report and switch it to off.

No, its not that, delivery reports are switched off! I have had a few Nokia phones over the last few years and they have all done this, and so does my friend's Nokia. We are both on O2, I wonder whether it could be an O2 thing if it aint standard to Nokia ?? :-0
