My friend has a Sky+ box and TV in living room. She bought a second TV for the bedroom and as a Christmas present I bought her a wireless sender. Actually THREE senders. The first produced a weak signal and I changed it for a better type. This sent a very good signal but we found channel could not be changed via remote in bedroom (despite info on box that said it could be). Third (Philips) sender I was assured by Currys salesman would work. Never got that far as scart plug adapter on this model would not go into Sky+ box correctly to make contact. On box of this device it stated would ONLY NOT work on Virgin boxes. Took that back and have since been told by another person that you cannot have a video sender that will allow channel changes on second TV when using Sky+ box only on Sky. There are built in aerial and 'phone sockets in bedroom but reception is so poor as to be usless (Large apartment block so cannot fix an outside aerial). Is only solution paying rental on second box or does anybody know method that will work?
To be honest with you, I tried all sorts, including the magic eye and had problems with the lot of them.
I've ended up running the ariel extension from the box to the bedroom TV and if I need to change the channel, then I get up and do it. It's sometimes a pain when I'm comfy in bed, but it's far easier than getting annoyed at the poor quality or waving about like a loon trying to change the channel.
Thanks for both your very quick answers.
We considered running a coax cable to second set, but because of way place is constructed and position of rooms it would not be possible to do neatly (and flat is rented so do not want to drill holes!)
Looks like easiest and cheapest option is the second sender I bought and getting out of warm, comfy bed to change channel!
