playing dvds

i am having trouble playing rented dvds on my laptop...they seem to stick...even when there is no scratches on the disc...is there a problem with my laptop or is it the quality of the dvds...anyone else have this problem

Some rented DVD's have stickers on the top of them with an ID number, etc that the video shop put on there.  You may have to take this off.
