Thanks to the wonders of the LCD display, you can not only still buy them, but there's a much wider choice, they come in a wide range of sizes, with or without freeview, and with or with built-in DVD, and they're much cheaper than they used to be - and of course, they use a fraction of the power.

also the usb dongle option ... good if you already have a lappy with you - and very cheap as an add on

I use mine when I'm away - most hotels only have selected channels ...

with all these options... it's only as good as the aerial ...
in hotels you can often hijack their lead (I carry a 10M extension lead) which works well

but at home ... the little portable job it comes with is useless - has to be a good signal
