On my new computer, when I try to download emails I get a message saying enter your 25 character product key. this is all greek to me, I did not know I had a 25...product key. Where do I find it?
Microsoft Home Office has a 25 Character product Key which you need to enter before you can install the product.
It has nothing to do with your E-Mails.
The version that come installed on your computer would have been a trial version only and the trial period has expired.
If you do not need the full features of MS office then open office is a perfectly good free replacement for the word processor and spreadsheet parts of office.
and there are several other free email programs about to replce outlook, outlook express (or windows mail) will probably already be installed on your computer, or you can download thunderbird to replace outloook for free
Thank you both for your very prompt answers - it is only when I try to download an email with an attachment that it occurs, nice tip about the open office which I shall try as soon as. The message says I have 25 'goes' before I need to pay, so I shan't! Thanks again.
When you`ve used up your 25 goes, unless you really need office, I wouldn`t bother installing open office.
If it`s just for opening email attachments. Try foxit reader or adobe reader. Foxit reader takes less space than adobe.
where did they say it was a PDF they can't open? if it's trying to to open attachments and office is coming up I suspect it's office documents they are trying to open.
