A friend asks if it is possible to get a 5 din plug lead with either a jack plug (don't know how many) or a usb on the other end. It's beyond me why he wants it or what he wants it for.

5pin din (depending on the equipment it's plugging into) can carry either input or output signals, the best bet for guaranteed compatibility would be one of these

you would then have to experiment to see which pair out of the four phono connectors on the lead gave the desired result with the equipment you have.
