we have a thompson speed touch 585v6 and the last light on it has just packed in so no broad band, we got it supplied by aol but as it is in my name and im offshore and cant call them they will not deal with my partner does anybody have any ideas on how we can sort it? my partner has tried all the buttons or so she says lol.
It is possible AOL is down for some reason, and there is nothing wrong with the modem.
In the meantime, tell your partner to switch the modem off at the mains and wait five minutes before switching it back on.
This often resets the modem.
All sorted now in a very convoluted way i phoned my girls mobile and she in turn phoned aol on the landline we then switched on loudspeakers on the phones and hey presto we had a link turned out we had to do a complete reset of the modem including wap code.
