Computer/SD card incompatability
1 Answers
Recently when I purchased the Canon G10 camera which uses secure digital memory cards. I have several older cards which I used in another camera so initially I declined to buy a new high speed card for this camera. Then I changed my mind. Now the problem. The new SanDisk Ultra II Card (4 GB) causes my desktop to freeze up. That Windows XP machine has a CPU of 1.7 Ghz and has 768 MB of RAM. My laptop which is Vista Home Basic and has a 1.80 Ghz processor and 1.50 Gb of RAM can read the new card BUT I want my photos on the older desktop. Any ideas as to why the desktop machine won't read the new card and freezes up? Could it be a RAM problem? Other? Thank you.
