BBC & ITV Players

When I try to watch TV on the BBC player or the ITV player, it will play for a short while and then stop as if it is loading.

How can I overcome this, so that I can watch a programme straight through with no interruptions?

I have recently up graded my Virtual Memory, and I have enough memory on my hard drive.

I am running Windows XP.

Upgrading your real memory would be a better idea!

if your not able to watch things on iPlayer smoothly then either your internet speed is not fast enough, or, your ISP is limiting the amount of bandwidth you have available for P2P downloading (which iPlayer is).

Either way there is probably not much you can do to help with the streamed programs but you can install the iPlayer desktop version which lets you download the program fully and then watch from your computers hard drive it so it's not dependent on your internet speed.

oh and about the ITV player.....

it's rubbish!

I have never been able to watch a program using it, and a little checking soon showed me I'm not the only person that has huge problems with it.

Try pausing the programme at the start, waiting a few minutes and then press play. The longer you leave it the better it will be.

Don't know how to do this.

Chuck I have 85% free space on my Disc C, and 97% free space on my portable disc, and my internet speed has just been up graded by Virgin from 2MB to 10MB, they say that is super fast.

I downloaded iPlayer desktop, but when I clicked on the Icon nothing happened, so I have now removed it.
