Can anyone tell me how to clean a white keyboard - mine has gone yellow and grubby looking and I'd like to restore it to it's original pristine condition if possible. Thanks
if it's a desktop then almost certainly use devilspawn's idea, it's what I was going to suggest (or a dishwasher)
if it's a laptop popping the keys off isn't such a great idea, they break a lot easier, I would remove the entire keyboard and wash the whole thing it using a solvent of some sort
No, this is a non-smoking household. The keyboard concerned is a desktop. Thank you all for your interesting and varied replies - I will try some of them, but will probably leave the Sterident as a last resort as we don't have any in the house! and MisNorway, I've never tried sueing a paintbrush - did you win?
OK being serious, if you don't want to take the keyboard apart, then use a dampened cloth with a little washing up liquid for the main plastics and use the same but with cotton buds if you want to clean the keys.
Don't soak it too much though,.
BTW, keyboards are really cheap these days, buying another sounds wasteful, but is an option!
