Our PC speakers aren't working well, but we're not sure if it's the pc or the speakers. Everytime i want to listen to music, i have to go to the Speakers section of the control panel, and turn the volume up. It seems to have decided to stay on zero. Then the next track comes on, and the volume has set itself back to zero! any ideas appreciated. thanks

The problem is not the speakers. It's probably software related. There may be two mixers installed, Windows (if you're using it) has its own mixer, and the soundcard's own mixer may be installed. One could be overiding the other. If you think this is the problem, try setting the volume up on the dominant mixer, or search on the soundcard driver software for a solution.

Thanks very much for your help. As it turns out, we managed to finally diagnose the problem as the media player software had turned the volume down itself! sorted now. thanks
