is this freesat any good or is it just freeview thru a dish

Freesat has a similar (but extended) selection of channels to Freeview.

Freeview channels:

Additionally there's currently insufficient bandwidth on Freeview channels to provide HD signals. That's due to change. See here:

But if you're in a hurry to get HDTV you should opt for Freesat (which already has a limited range of HD programming)

Uses existing dish / box if you have them, just a nominal amount for a viewing card.

One big advantage with satilite reception is you are not affected by trees or building that get in the way of the signal.
