it's taking forever and it nears completion when an error message appears, I have tried using a zipped file and that's not working either?

it's a fair size, I am not sure how I would describe it to you, It's a letter which I have scanned to email, I want to send it to Trading Standards..

Could you rescan the letter at a lower resolution and therefore have a smaller file.

It would have helped to know what the error message was but gald you sorted it.

Re-scan it in greyscale at no more than about 200dpi and save it as a jpeg.

As has been stated, when asking for help because "an error appears", it *REALLY* helps if you actually state what that error is...
