When I turn my computer on it always comes up with my name and says locked. I then have to click on it (i have set the password as nothing, so i just have to click on it) but my question is. Is there anyway to turn that feature off? So when I turn my computer on it will just load up to my desktop?

Believe it or not, I don't think you are turining your computer off!
Open the control panel, and co to the Power options.
Click on "Choose what the power button does"
I wouldn't be surpised if it's set to either "Sleep" or "Hibernate"
Not an answer but I am intrigued by Rojash's response because I have checked mine and as he suggested, my computer is set to Hibernate. Rojash, should we set our computers to Shut Down rather than Hibernate? What are any implications please?

Yes it was set to Hibernate, and underneath there was an option to click turn password off. Thanks. What if the difference between hibernate and sleep, can anyone tell me?
Sleep puts the computer into a low power state but it still requires power to the computer to retain the information in the memory, hibernate saves the current state of the computer to the hard drive and then shuts the computer down totally so it doesn't require or use any power at all.

in my experience both of them can be temperamental at times with not returning to a "wakeful" state properly (almost always caused by a device driver not supporting sleep/hibernate properly)
The default in 7 seems to be Hibernate.
I've found it can cause all sorts of problems - especially if you assume it's off, so I always set mine to turn off.
so you get a list of - sleep, hibernate, and shut down, should we choose shut down for all the boxes
