Hi I have free sat installed in two rooms, recently the downstairs one keeps losing its signal I have changed the boxes but this makes no difference. Some one as informed me it must be the cable because if it was the lnb it would lose its signal in both rooms can anybody confirm this cheers

Well you shouldn't split off the sat downlead. So I would expect there to be a quad LNB in use. So each receiver can select different polarities H + V.
It will be a faulty LNB or cable (water in it, or shorting, maybe at outlet box)
I am presuming that each room has a receiver and it's own sat plug connected to the sat IF input, NOT looped into RF in any way?
