What product did you use to do the virus scan?

Did that product offer to fix the problems?

Try running a malwarebytes scan to check for malware / spyware on your PC as well.

did system restore no luck xx
Don't restore, it won't get rid of it, look it up and see where it is in the start menu, start in safe find the files and remove - the download VHG's suggestion and kill it

thanks for tips guys but i cant even get it to do anything not even in safe mode i will get my bro to look at it later in the week when i see him hes a whizz kid on such matters
How would Zxe recognise the files? What should she be looking for?
If you look it up, as I suggested, there is normaly advice about how to clear it, the virus normaly sit somewhere hidden and is numbered rather than named so people like me can't find it. The problem is the virus is in the startup menu if you can identify the files and where to find them, you start in safe mode take them out of the start up menu. This doesn't clear the problem but it enables you to download something to kill it.
Worst comes to worst you should be able to boot from a CD/DVD/Flash Drive and tackle it that way.

So how did you get it ? Did your existing AV software not spot it ?

Seems to be an annoyance rather than malicious ? http://www.securelist...descriptions/old26430

Not sure then why you are having problems booting into Windows, unless you have other infections too.
I doubt this is a virus (which is why I asked my questions above).

I think it is more likely malware or spyware. These type of programs often stop you getting to the internet.

If you have access to another computer download malwarebytes to that, then put it on a memory stick, then bring it over to your PC, then install it and run it.

Try to update malwarebytes before you run it (the "virus" may not let you).

If it is spyware/malware then malwarebytes may get rid of it.
