Where can I find a sensible web site to give information about set top boxes using mpeg-4 transmissions. Gppgle is no help as I know how it wokrs but where can I find the equipment in UK

Joe, surely it would be easier to buy a box once you get to Norway (or get your Norwegian contact to buy one), then you are guaranteed to get one that works over there.
I would not like to guarantee that any UK box would work fully in Norway as I can't find any information with regards to the frequencies they use for the EPG, also Norway uses a different PAL system to the UK so the box may not work with a Norwegian TV.
Can you shed more light on what you are trying to achieve here and we might be able to offer a alternative solution.

Thanks Chuck - sensible as usual. The main difference between the transmission is MPEG as all other factors are similar and I could not get a sensible answer from sellers or two manufacturers on the web even when my typing was correct. We go the the north for four or five weeks every year and there is 24 hour daylight. Norwegian TV is limited without the extra channels so we hope for good weather. I'll check local buying when we are there and decide. Cheers
