Is SKy HD worth the extra cost? I presently have Sky+ linked to a Panasonic 720p TV. All looks great to me as do the dvd's I paly through it so, is an upgrade worth the extra tenner a month?
in my opinion you won't see a huge improvement as you only have a 720p TV, if you had either of the 1080 HD TVs then yes I'd say it is a noticeable difference.
I really don't know why 720p was sold. However, if you had the 1080 your dvds would look no better unless they were blu ray played on a blu ray player.
I am not convinced that Sky broadcast at 1080 and think it could all be a case of the emperor's new clothes.
HD relies on a great broadcast, great signal, and a really good quality display with good connections .. HDMI or Component.
Cheap displays, scart leads and cheap HD boxes will degrade perceived picture quality.
Don't bother, I have a 720p TV and Sky HD, there is a slight difference but nothing worth bothering about. I'm considering cancelling mine.
Get ready for the next push with 3D.
HD's ok,nothing to write home about - most difference I've noticed is watching golf. Only took it cos sky offered me 6 months free and free installation and set up. Give them a call and tell them you want to cancel - u'll b surprised at the offers they make.
^^ Quite!! I dont know how people cannot see the difference unless they either have poor eyesight or have ropey old kit that perhaps isnt capable of much?! Baffles me!!
