Digifusion freeview box.
8 Answers
Has anyone else got a Digifusion freeview box? Up to very recently, I could record any tv programme instantly, days ahead if necessary, at the pressing of one button. However, I now find that Digifusion (I presume it is them) has fixed it that I can only record one
programme ahead. I have another smaller simpler Digifusion freeview box connected to another tv and this is acting the same.
The only way I can now record a programme say two hours ahead is to do it the long way round. This is quite fiddly and takes a while and anyway I have to be very careful not to muck up the recording of the programme. I can’t think why this change is occurring!

The digital information for that service is no longer being transmitted, so your only option (other than continuing to fiddle around as you are now) is to get a new Freeview box with an inbuilt recording facility (='PVR') which uses the Freeview EPG.

Firstly, contact their customer service helpline (LOL) and ask for an explanation. If none is forthcoming, (or given to you in rapid gibberish from an offshore call centre), then cut your losses and invest in a decent piece of kit. I invested in one last year (can't give you the brand name in case it contradicts AB's strict advertising code, but the name is shared by two former US presidents and purchased from a catalogue store named after the one hundred-eyed god in Greek mythology). It cost just short of £100 but gives you 120 hours of recording (although the actual figure is nearer to 160). Best investment I ever made - when I returned home after spending a fortnight in hospital last summer, all 14 episodes of Corrie were ready and waiting for me.
Hi Mike - I think the time has come for me to invest in a new flatscreen tv with hd and everything else! Then I presume I won't need a digibox. I think Chris was hinting at this. I've been holding out buying a new tv but I think I'll have to bite the bullet. All my friends seem to have got rid of their old tv's so I'll have to fall in line. By the way, we have so many intelligent Abers - afraid I'm one of the ones who only ask the questions!
Glad you twigged my obscure references. By the way, it is not a digibox you need but a D(igital) T(elevison) R(ecorder), which combines Freeview with recording facilities without having to be locked into a contract with service providers, such as those named after the blue thing above us all and a chaste maiden.
