Can someone tell me how I paste to my desktop, I have opened a new folder on my desktop but I can't copy and paste in to it. What am I doing wrong. Help needed please.

Are you trying to copy text? If so, highlight what you want to copy by dragging the mouse, then press Ctrl + C. Click on the folder you want to transfer to and press Ctrl + V. Should work.

Copy & paste to the Application, ie Word page or whatever photo Application you use. File the new doc and drag it into your desktop folder.

I don't think I have made myself very clear. When I create a new folder on my desktop I don't know how to open it to paste the copied text into.

Double click left hand of mouse over the folder icon.

You can't paste text into a folder.

You need to paste the text into a file such as a word document and you can then save the file in the folder.
