Does anyone know if a cracked screen on a laptop can be replaced and if so is it a horrendous cost?

Yes
Yes they can be replaced.

Hard to guess at a cost be cause "a laptop" might have an 11inch screen or a 21inch screen!
Yes, they can be replaced. Yes, it's quite expensive.

For example (quote): "Laptop Screens - prices start from just £99.99 for the screen, labour and vat". Source: http://www.acesupport...c-laptop-repairs.html

Chris
Someone recently posted a question on this topic and they got some very helpful advice which they’ve used. They were able to replace the screen for them -self and it wasn't that expensive, if I remembered correctly it cost less than £100. I am looking for that thread for you but not having any luck. Hopefully they might see your thread and respond.
