I've just installed Internet Explorer 9.

When you start it, there is a bar which says:

Speed up startup browsing by disabling add-ons
[Disable Add-ons...] [Ask me later]

Isn't there an option for Don't disable add-ons and Don't ask me later?

I have Google toolbar, for example, and want to keep it.

By the way, if you use The AnswerBank with IE9 you have to click compatibility view to write a new question.

I had this same bar display the first time I loaded the browser. Since, like you, I wanted to do neither, I just clicked the cross and closed the notification. Since starting the browser again, the message has not re-appeared.

Out of interest, how many times have you started the browser up? As chuck says, this is a Beta release. There are likely to be many...

Well firstly, you've installed a beta release, you can't really complain if things don't work as you expect.

By the looks of this it's probably warning you that the toolbar takes too long to load

Try looking on the tools menu under something like manage add ons and see if increasing the warning time limit helps.
Hit Alt on your keyboard, then go to view then toolbars and your toolbars should be there and click on the one you need! Hope that helps! :D

Thanks for your answers.

ChuckFickens - I wasn't complaining, I was asking! I've been to 'Manage Add-ons' but there's nothing there about a warning time limit.

Collette, my toolbars are on view already, I don't need to go to 'View toolbars'.

As Chuck has implied, IE9 is NOWHERE NEAR ready yet...

You're right, Mobius ... if you click the cross it doesn't come up again.

What problems have you had, Mark?
Never use beta software. It's up to them to test it. They are a big enough company with millions in revenue.
Open Betas like this are normal practice TTG - they are optional. Some people WANT to try things before they're available. I used the release candidate of Windows 7 six months before the finished product was released. I thought it was great, and it's what made me decide to buy it when it was released.

Being a big company means nothing when it comes to testing a product like a web browser. The Internet is the most diverse place in existence in the digital world. MS could employ thousands of testers and still it would take years to find all the bugs. If you release a Beta and collect information, this can quickly help pinpoint many of the common problems. If you don't like it, don't download it. But as I say, it's common practice.

Well put, Mobius. If I want to try Beta software then I'll try Beta software!
