Norton Interrnet Security and System Restore
5 Answers
I did have Norton 2009 and some very easy to follow instruction to enable System Restore. It involved temporarily disabling Norton Tamper Protection, running System Restore, then turning Tamper Protection back on again. I've now upgraded to the latest NIS (2011) but cannot find a way to run System Restore. Can anyone help me with this please?

A help feature on the Norton website wanted the installation identity code, but having renewed and paid for it over the internet I didn't have a CD with that information. Wish I hadn't upgraded to NIS 2011 - it's more trouble than it's worth.
I must say I always recommend the later versions of Norton Antivirus .. but I am not a lover of these 'all-in-one@ oversized do everything suites. They really are not needed.
AV .. Firewall .. Anti-malware .. All you need really.
XP firewall is easily bettered .. AV .. see other threads.
Malwarebytes for the rest.

I now have Norton 360 - a new disk - and have discovered how to run System Restore. Open the page from the desktop icon. Along the top of the Norton page a bar shows Tasks, Settings, My Account and one or two other headings. Click on Settings and look under 'Quick Controls'. Un-tick Norton Tamper Protection then close the page. Run System Restore, which should now work OK, then remember to re-tick Tamper Protection.
