printer not working

I tried to print a lyrics of a song and when I go to print it is coming at bottom of page
"word is preparing to background print the document.

This is occurring on every new page I tried. I changed ink etc.

I think what happened the background of the lyrics was copied in and I cant get rid of them. Thanks for any help

Assume a simple text document will still print and it's this particular document giving trouble.

Tools, Options, Print and uncheck the "Background colors and images" box.
If that does not work....Tools, Options, Print and uncheck the "Drawing objects" box.

Make sure they are set back to original values after you have printed your document and finished with it.

tried out what you said there - the printer was off and when I turned it on without going into a document even the red alarm light came on - maybe there is something wrong with the printer. but thanks anyway unch

Someone with a similar printer might be able to help if you mentioned what make or model of printer it is.
