I assume they mean you could log into a web based email service like hotmail, yahoo or gmail. You could put your email settings into the ships computer and access them that way but you risk downloading them onto their computer and would not be able to pick them up again when you got home.
You use the ships computer to access the Virgin media website and from there you access e-mail. this is what I do when i am abroad and using internet cafes. Just remember to clear the temporary files when you have finished so that others cannot access your account.

Thank you both for answering, but pauln90 I can access myemail account at virgin
but when I do nothing is there this is because all emails have been forwarded to
my outlook express account and it is that account I cant see how you log on to
Outlook express is set up on your computer you cant access it from another pc. When i checked my email via the Virgin Media website there were 291 messages going back 3 weeks. I go onto the site periodically and delete all the stored emails. Have you set up the virgin media email service so that it deletes all emails once they are forwarded to your outlook express inbox
Is it just a matter of timing?
I have just opened Outlook Express and received emails from my Orange Webmail account.
I have also just logged onto my Orange Webmail account directly and, yes, the Inbox is empty because the emails have been forwarded to my Outlook Express program.
Have a friend send you a test message, and then try logging onto your Virgin account directly without going into Outlook Express first.
Good luck!
I have a webmail pointing to my outlook express. The messages store up in my webmail so I can read them anywhere but are only removed when I either delete them or open Outlook Exppress on my PC.

It sounds like you have something similar with your Virgin account.
But whilst you are away the emails wont be transferred to your outlook Inbox, provided no one at home is accessing it, so they should still be on the Virgin server.

My emails are sent to my Widows Mail ( Vista) inbox from Virgin but they also remain on the Virgin site until I delete them or they drop off after a period of time.
How do I create an automated reply to all e-mails I receive saying I am on annual leave?
