strange number

on saturday morning i got a missed call on my mobile from the following number:

+39034*74(then 3 more numbers which i shall withhold for personal reasons)

 

I dont want to ring it back unless it is one of those scams, anyone know what it could be?

i think you are right into thinking it's a scam of some sort. I wouldn't risk calling it back. the +39 bit seems foreign, so its probably an anonymous caller or something.

+39 is the international dialling code for Italy, if that's any help.

I dont think its an italian number as there is a star in the middle instead of a number.

I wouldn't return any call to any number I didn't know - if kt's important, they'll call again, if it's a machine sweeping randomly, they won't.

I am not going to ring it back.  My question is, does anyone know what it could be?
