How do I copy a recorded program, not protected or anything or even in HiDef from the HardDrive on the Humax onto a memory stick.
It's a short program of local interest that I want to copy onto a DVD to send to a friend!
Any help please as I've only had the Humax about a fortnight?
Cheers

if its a freeview fox hdr t2
its on page 37 in the manual
Because you are saying you want to copy to a DVD I presume that like me you have a DVD Recorder, if this is so then connect your Humax box to the DVD Rec with a scart lead & another scart lead from DVD Rec to AV (1 or 2) on the TV. Problem solved, run the programme on Humax Hard Drive & copy on DVD disc on Recorder.Ron.

Thanks to you both for trying to explain what to do, but I'm afraid I don't understand either explanation . I can't seem to follow the method given on page 37 and my other system is a Daewoo tape/disc video player/recorder connected to my tv via a scart,so we can still play our films etc.and the newly acquired Humax is connected direct to the LG tv with the supplied HDMI cable. The aerial plugs into the Humax and the Humax connects to the tv with the HDMI cable.
I would prefer to copy direct to a USB memory stick so I can put it through my computer and add a message and some greetings before sending it off.
Should I get out more?
Cheers

Hello to both 'deggars316' and 'whiskeryron'.
After messing on for the past hour AND reading the user manual I found out that the NTFS format is no good for copying;the stick had to be in FAT or FAT32 format. The only way I could tell if the copying had finished was the flashing light on the stick stopped.
I hadn't timed it but it seemed a couple of minutes to copy The Lakes, a half hour prog.
Cheers and if I can help anyone I will!
now come on Grandpappy you can do this( I'm 86 in April & if I can do it you can) leave everything the way it is you only need to connect the Humax to the Daewoo with another scart cable then anything that goes through the Humax can be played & recorded on the Daewoo,& will play through the tv & unless you can find a usb outlet on the Humax box you won't be able to use a memory stick. Ron.
I was typing my last message & clicked submit just after your final post.Ron.
grandpappy he wants it on a usb stick not a dvd
there is a usb port on the rear format the stick to fat32
look in data storage in the humax menu on screen
I know what Grandpappy's question was, I was trying to give a more permanent answer so that future DVDs could be burnt without hassle, afterall it's not always easy to access the rear of electronic equipment, I would much rather be able to use my setup without having to move stuff to get to the back where all the important wiring is.

Now,Now, no fighting in the ranks!
There is actually a usb connection on the front of the Humax and I've established that the Humax will 'read' NTFS,Fat32 & Fat but will NOT write(copy) to NTFS formatted memory stick.
It's great to just 'chop' stuff around on the computer, add titles, sounds, effects, etc. and then just drop it all down onto a dvd. So,thanks to you both for the kind assistance and tolerance.
Cheeeeers
it's a pleasure Grandpappy,I too have found the usb conn behind the 'door' on the front panel, good innit. Ron.
