I've saved a document. ORiginally it was two page but now it's only one, (spacing etc changed) but it still prints as two pages. THe second page is blank but I don't want the 2nd page AT ALL, (blank or not!) how do I save just the first page. I can't copy and paste as there are all sorts of text boxes and pictures on the first page. TIA

Open the document and switch on the non-printing characters (or formatting symbols). This option should be somewhere on the tool bar at the top of the word document window (looks like a backwards pointing P) – mine happens to be to the left of the document % value.

You should now see why there is a second page (which is being printed) containing one or more non-printing characters. This may be due to a page break (on the first page), which needs deleting or non printing characters overflowing to the second page – again, just delete them until you have one page only.

Having been introduced to Word with the non-printing characters switched on – I find it disconcerting not knowing why characters are where they are on the document (without non-printing/formatting characters showing).
Just position your cursor at end of text you want on page 1 and just keep delete pressed.
