I received an e-mail from TroutFishingBoard.com regarding the fact that I urgently needed to up-date my Norton Anti-Virus, however I religiously update my system every day. Has someone else received the same e-mail and is it's origin somewhat dubious? Thanks
I had a notification from troutfishingboard about needing to update something else which I haven't got. If your Norton is up to date (as ours is), I would ignore it. Certainly don't click on any links in the email, just in case.
Thanks for your advice boxtops and ChuckFickens, I will delete and forget about it.. The only reason I had for raising the issue was the fact that the e-mail contained the following "Warning - You are Not Protected by Norton. Update Now" and "they" were showing Norton AntiVirus 2011 and suggesting "click here to be protected" which would have led to "them" asking for me to buy "it" of course.
very doubtful that they wanted you to buy from them, unless they were looking for your CC details. More likely that the link would let them instal malware on your system.
