BT Broadband. 2437 kbps.

2400 should be OK for youtube as long as you are not trying to watch HD stuff. but it's not a great speed and during busy times it may be a problem.

Also it says in BT terms for option1 broadband "We do limit the speed of all video streaming to 896Kbps on our Option 1 product, during peak times only"

896Kbs is not enough to watch youtube, so if they are restricting yur speed that will be why.

(doc..... just under 7Mbs is very good)

I'm getting about 6½ Meg ... even then, some YouTube will 'hang' ...
Doc, the low upload is normal.

The A in ADSL stands for Asymmetric, which means that the upload speed is different from the download speed. the reasoning behind this is basically you download a lot from the internet but you upload very little so you don't need a fast upload speed.

In some areas you can get SDSL (Symmetric digital subscriber line) which the upload and download is the same speed, but 99.9% of people would have no real use for a faster upload speed.
