Can anyone tell me do all dvd machines freeze when playing and have to be unplugged (I'm on my 2nd of the same make) and the lights go out on the panel and when I stop for a cuppa or to chat on telephone, it restarts from the beginning and not the place where I left off - such a nuisance.  My daughter has a much cheaper one and doesn't have these probs.

I had a Sony which did this..replaced it with a 40 quid cheapie from Asda - no problems.
We bought a couple of cheapie ones from Asda, for the Grandchildren & they've been brilliant!
I have an LG and a real cheap one as well and neither has this problem

romko - its a Sunstech DVP X505 - but I got it here in Spain

havent seen that make here (i am in madrid at present). Sounds like you'd be best off getting a refund and buying something from a better brand. Pioneer, JVC , some models of Sony, and some Panasonic are a good place to start
