I keep getting a message every so often saying

Internet Explorer has stopped working, then a tab comes up on the tool bar and it connects again. is there anying I can do about this?

I could have given you a huge list of things to try, which may, or may not have fixed it. it wouldn't have made IE function any better though.

The simple answer was the better one, in this case ... but use Chrome, not Firefox (that kinda sucks too).

Chrome is very good. As is Iron (non google-sponsored version of Chrome)

now my larger text has disappeared from toolbar and I usually have it on 125,,arghhhh
