W W 1 Battlefields. Advice please

This is a long shot of a request but then I have time so feel free to add an answer if you find this question in a few weeks time.

I have been interested in WW1 for many years now (I am 65 BTW) and am now convinced that I should visit some of the battlefields . In Fact I am going to go this summer on next and am wondering if anyone can recommend a particular package deal. I will have to go on my own as my wife is not interested. I had hoped to go together in the car but it seems a coach trip (I live in North Lancs) would be best.

I have "Googled" it there are too many to chose from so I am looking for a recommendation please.

I've just taken a look at the Eurostar website, entering some random dates in July. I found it fairly easy to get a return fare of around £150 from Lancaster to Ieper (=Ypres).

You could then stay at a B&B such as this one:

Not been on a Battlefield Tour but have used Leger in the past and had good holidays. Maybe one of their packages would suit you.

We didnt do a package as we stopped off at ypres on the way, also been to others but from ww2

Joe - I have travelled to the war graves on many occasions I have two great uncles out there one at Theipval(the Somme) and at Loos, one they claimed died on the first day of the Somme and the other died At a German field hospital. ... But of course I am far closer than you to the continent.
I have never taken an organised trip and a lot of it is dependant on what you want. If you just want to see what and where you can do that on your own as I have done ..... Buy a map .... Make for North Belgium .... Go along the coast road and just turn south...... Be careful the number of grave sites are overwhelming! You are in Flanders .... Worth making for Ypres .... The Menin gate, if you can spend an overnight and be there for 9oclock pm where they have bugled since 1922....! They get a little flat on occasion and if you're stronger than me you won't need a tissue. Tyne Côte the biggest British cemetery (please remember The Southern Irish fought with us) is just around the corner ..... a long drive .... But a very worthy journey and with a little research you can see a lot for yourself. Ps take a large capacity sd card for your camera..... Or I guarantee you will be left with no space.
