How often do planes abort landings and go round again because traffic strays onto the runway?

Clanad (and anyone else with an opinion), it was in Jakarta and we were 20-30 seconds out when we powered up and round.  When we banked a plane was sitting on the runway, seemingly stationary.  The pilot mentioned that air traffic asked us to go round again, but understandably not why.   I looked on PPrune for a thread on the general issue, but couldn't see anything
This occurrs infrequently.  I've gone back over my last three logbooks where I note such events and have found only 3 in the last 10 years.  It is dependent on the airport though.  It seems that some airports, by deficient design, air traffic controls shortcomings or type of traffic offer more chances for this to happen.  Keep in mind, that all procedures in the final phase of landing are geared to such a happenstance... Thanks for that.  I fly a lot and it is the second time, both in Indonesia.  It's not the scariest thing that has happened, as both were dealt with professionally.

happened to me early one morning in Amsterdam - it was dark so you couldn't see anything, but I was awake and aware we'd come in to land then suddenly picked up and taken off again. I asked a stewardess and she told me; no announcement was made. Only time, though, in hundreds of flights.
Miltary (fighter aircraft) wise it happens very frequently mostly because there are often two pairs in the circuit and aircraft are flying either in formation/or close proximity to one another.  I used to work out on the airfield a lot and was only in touch with ATC ground so was always looking out for aircraft inbound!
