Going to Portugal in September...What's best--taking Sterling or euro's? I'm thinking that if the bottom drops out of the euro market then they will be virtually worthless, and everyone wil want paying in Sterling, Dollars or Gold??(I haven't got a lot of gold).
Nope - you can't use Euros - the plural is Euro. (unless you're writing a document for the plebs in which case we're not educated enough to recognise that the plural of fish is...fish.)

Also say you will need Euro, very few places outside the UK will exchange Strling for anything other than 1:1 and there's no chance the Euro will fail.
If your instinct is to speculate on currency trends and you are prepared to back it then go ahead - your guess is just as likely to be correct as the next punter's - just don't complain if/when you are proved wrong. Otherwise use your plastic, debit or credit, it is widely accepted.
