Thanks jno, but none the wiser. Have thick head on today. Not sure exactly what question means. Is it the amount of different zones to travel to reach that time zone or the hours difference. Not sure what answer is intended to be.
They are GMT - 3, so 3 time zones. GMT changed its name to UTC Universal Time Coordinate because the French resented the fact it was called Greenwich Mean time.

a time zone is an hour (usually - I think there are a few places that differ from their neighbours by less than an hour - for instance it's now 14:42 in Katmandu).
