Teaching experience in Australia

I am going to Sydney at the end of June for a year before (hopefully) doing a primary teacher training course in September 2006. I was wanting to get some experience with working with children while I'm over there. Does anyone have any info on how I can do this? I am not bothered about the work being paid but I do hold a working visa.
