Passport interview ?
My son has to go for an interview to get his first passport. He is unsure as to what sort of questions he will be asked , I have no idea either. Anyone been for one recently and know what to expect? They already have seen his birth certificate plus mine and his mums and our marriage certificate. What more proof do they need at the interview ?

I didn't know that they did such a thing as a passport interview - you learn something new every day.
Have a nice day - I am off to bed, insomnia isn't much fun!

My supervisor at work and the rest of her family had to go to a first passport interview. It is something all new passport applicants must do for an adult passport but only if you have never had a child's one
It was all very simple, nothing untoward happened. She was asked where she worked, her DOB, and other questions just to confirm what she had put on her application form
Her husband was asked the same sort of questions with slight variations - he was asked one sons DOB and she was asked the others sort of thing

Well he has been and is upset because he could not answer 3 questions.
when did the family move to our present address /( it was 11 years before he was born)
what date were his mum and dad married ?(even i have problems with that one)
date of his sisters birthday. ?
but he did answer most of them correctly.
They even asked what shops were in our street and what TV service subscription we had in the house.

I think we believe they are trying to 'catch us out' when it comes to things like this
I know it's a bit late for your son now, but the important thing to understand is it doesn't matter if you get a couple of questions wrong
I mean it's perfectly conceivable that he wouldn't know when you moved into your house for example or what TV service you have
I'm not sure who the passport people would know that one TBH
Nice to know the questions you could be asked though
