Are You Taking A Summer Holiday This Year?

Are you one of these people that just has to have a two week break in the sun each year or do you play it by ear? Do you have anything planned for the summer months?

We normally book camping hols in uk at the drop of a hat. When the sun shines, were off for 2 weeks at a time.
March 6th, were off to Perth Australia, for 4 weeks staying with relatives.
After that, we will camp again at short notice. Isle of Wight in May.

My summer holidays are of the utmost importance. My 2 weeks in Menorca all booked for July and the follow up week in September there is WIP. Every year the same.

Im going to Tenerife three times this year, and Corfu twice.

Aha! Well, I'd go visit Vodkaandcoke but not move out there.
We've stayed at St. Austell and Mitchell ( a couple of times) I just love Padstow.

Pusskin, I've always fancied taking the kids camping but not sure we can rely on the great british weather. Don't think you can go wrong with the weather in Perth! :-)

I've been to St Austell but not Mitchell or Padstow. I I may head there for a couple of nights in the summer hols.

WIP is work in progress. We always go self catering, rent a villa or apartment, do our own flight, car etc. Always in the same area but the island's so small you can get from one side to the other in less than an hour.

We are lucky as East Cornwall is only about 80 mins away. We go to a lovely hotel between Looe and Polperro a couple of times a year for short breaks. Main holiday will be in Aug, a cruise to Fjords and North Cape.

Prudie, Ah! I think more and more people are doing that now. I tend to just pick package holidays because they're good for the kids but I'd much rather choose exactly what I wanted and put it all together. Probably cheaper too.

Yogasun, I really do love it in Looe. It's so pretty. Not been to Norway, although I am going to Sweden for the next Christmas (doesn't count in relation to my original post as I said summer holidays and it's to visit family) :-)

Unfortunately not .Mr S not in the best of health for travelling
I would love a couple of weeks on a beach in Greece .But we are lucky enough to live at the coast and we're retired so IF we get a good summer it's not too bad at home really .

I've never flown so have no idea if it would scare me, I don't think it would but you never know until you try it I suppose. I have no interest in travel really, I like my home comforts and familiarity. Plus, the hassle and stress of arranging and paying for a holiday would cancel out any benefit the holiday might have for me.

Shaneystar, sorry to here that :-( If we get the weather then living on the the coast is ideal! Picnic, couple of deck chairs. Bliss. I do also like spending lots of time in the garden. Again weather permitting.

we have friends all over the world where we can stay with our dogs, the problem would be the cost of getting pet passports etc, We also have my good ladies Mum living with us, she is 96 and bed-bound with dementia, so the dogs arent the biggest problem and we certainly would not go away and leave her Mum or the dogs behind.

Our time will come, no rush :-)
