This year I am going to Italy in August and I am hoping to go back to Jamaica in November/December.

Our holidays are erratic and are had any time through the year depending on when we have the time to go away and where we want to go. We tend to have a ski or sun holiday early in the year do something in the UK in the summer and then head to somewhere for sun in the late summer/early autumn.
We never ever plan more than a couple of months in advance as our lives are too hectic and you can't be sure where either of us will be work wise.

Lore, If the weather is good you can't beat Cornwall. We went to Looe a few years ago and had a lovely time. My youngest was just a toddler and she was more than happy with being sat on a beach with a bucket and spade in her hand :-) I do also like the Cornish folk.

Polly1958, I would love to visit Switzerland. Very picturesque by the looks of it.
Snowball, I am feeling very much the same. I have a couple of weekends away planned but nothing for more than a few nights. May have to get one of those SAD sun lamps at this rate!
woofgang, another reason why I said I'd never have pets. They can be a tie, but if you've had them for a long time then I would understand you not wanting to leave them.
Friedgreentomato, thats the only problem with going on holiday so early on in the year. The rest of the year seems to drag. I do love weekends away though.
