Innoculations For Morocco

I am off to Morocco (Marrakech) in June. I am staing in a hotel and not likely to be venturing out on any great adventure :-)

What innoculations etc are a) A Must Have and b) not a Must Have but recommended.

No particular inoculations are needed for Morocco under normal circumstances, but check for any recent disease outbreaks. As with most travel, it makes good sense to have a recent tetanus immunization. If you plan to eat outside the circle of established restaurants, consider a Hepatitis A inoculation.

Make sure your tetanus is up to date, that's all....no need for cholera, yellow fever, etc or even malaria pre-treatment

I would take some immodium or similar for any Ghandi's revenge, just in case you eat some bad (horse) and get the trots....... the tagines can be fab by the way, particularly pigeon ones......

Marrakech is very cosmopolitan these days, and very used to tourists. Your GP is best placed to advise you regarding any health requirements. I suspect there will be few, if any - as always.

i did fill a form in for the docs for both me and my mum thinking they would chekc my history and then let me know what, if anything, I would need. They then wanted to book two 20 mins appts for the nurse to discuss my requirements. When I said what is the alternative if I actually don't need anything - I still needed the 20 mins appt (during the hours of 9-4pm week days only) for them to tell me that. Just didn't want to waste taking a half day off work just to be told don't drink the water or go off with strange men :-) Knew you guys would come up trumps xx
