Canal Boat Holiday

Last year we spent a week on the Mon & Brec canal and really enjoyed it.
I know I can google other canals but does anyone have any that they have really enjoyed?
There are only two of us so not too many locks please - although we did get a lot of help from other boaters.

Kennet and Avon. There is a company called foxhangers at the bottom of Caen hill just outside Devizes. Beautiful countryside and lovely pubs but head towards bath because going up Caen hill means negotiating 20+ locks!

Norfolk broads is fun...not canal , river cruising but
still enjoyable...

Have you thought about the Norfolk Broads? No locks, beautiful countryside and handy for a few hours at the seaside.

Of course it is tidal but that is no real problem. One of my favourite ever holidays.

Many many years ago I went on a canal holiday on the Oxford canal - beautiful countryside.

Another advantage of the Broads is the boats are wider.

My husband and I did the Caldon canal ourselves a few years ago and had a really good week.

Myself and 7 friends did the Norfolk Broads. It was a fab holiday and MM is right, the pubs along the way are great! ;)

Thank you all. Are the Norfolk Broads very busy? It would not be during school hols.

Not busy at all. I was always able to moor where I planned to but of course take a torch for walking home from the pub in the dark :)

Lots of little villages to explore, an exciting expanse of open water to cross (Breydon Water) and fab wildlife.
