Disappointing Stay In A Travelodge In Bristol, Recently
I had to go to Bristol on Tuesday for 2 nights, and chose the travelodge anchor rd. We arrived pretty late, 12 midnight, and knackered, after long day. Woke up next day to discover there wasnt any shampoo, nor a remote control. Went to reception to complain, to be told, they never supply shampoo, oh and the remote control was probably nicked. Then was told, i could buy a washbag for a fiver!!
Anyway wont be using this place again, pity really, cuz quite liked Bristol

I prefer to take my own wash stuff for nights away, and if theres no remote, walking to the TV is fairly straightforward. There are a million other reasons why I would never stay at a Travelodge, but these two aren't in there.

it's how travelodge keep their prices low - provide only the absolute essentials and leave you to either bring you own or buy everything else.
there are a quantity of these places that don't have a restaurant or even a breakfast room - in Tamworth, the "catering" is provided by the Lidl store that occupies the ground floor, and similarly at Rugby, where the facility is provided by a Tesco Metro.

so i was supposed to bring my own shampoo for myself+my girlfriend, interesting, as i cant remember ever having to bother, usually find that hotels supply it due to airline restrictions. especially when you've arrived late, and just want a shower next morning. english telly is a must 4 me, as i dont bother watching in spain. remote control is a must, when your in your bed trying to relax, and zapping.it turned out in the end that the remote didnt matter. we just watched the same channel.
The windows are usually restricted in Travelodges so that you can usually open them about an inch. And yes, you are supposed to take your own shampoo for yourself & your girlfriend, budget hotels never supply it. And anyway, I would rather know what I am washing my hair with rather than use some cheap ass detergent ;-)
I personally stay in Travelodges quite a lot, mainly for the price - dirt cheap. I never expect much as you do tend to get what you pay for.

You get's what you pay for. Never stayed TraveLodge but frequent stayer Premier Inn, various locations. Beds could not be bettered. They have quality liquid soap in dispenser by both bath and basin. Toiletries to purchase from Reception if you've forgotten your own. I dropped and broke remote control, which was instantly replaced at Reception. But then, I did smile nicely!
