Travellers Cheques

Hi All - I have come across some US $ Travellers Cheques I last used in 2006 when I went to US. I obviously never cashed them back in, so my question is - are they still valid to use now? I've only signed them, no date on them, but don't want to get to US with them then find out they're not valid. Any help grateful - thanks

Don't you have to sign them in front of the cashier?

They have to be signed twice square ear, once when you purchase them and again when you cash them.

Take them either to where you purchased them, or to your bank. Travellers cheques don't have sell-by dates!

Oops sorry, just saw that you are going back to the US. Depends on where you go. When I was last there I had no problem using them in Florida, but New York was a different matter. You could just go to a bank, with your passport and they should be able to cash them for you.

Thanks everyone - loved the little aside convo between traci66 and squarebear - I am going to Florida so I know they're like cash there. Was just concerned as they'll be 8 years old by the time I get there. As you've said spudqueen they don't have use by date, so I should be OK. Thanks again!
