Two Days In Glasgow

For the above, what is unmissable? Not especially interested in inanimate museums, no car - and more like 1.5 days once travel time to arrive on day one taken into account!

Overnight Day One and Day two - spend them somewhere else - anywhere else :-)

Be prepared to walk up a lot of steep streets!
I had assumed (for what reason Lord only knows) that Glasgow City centre would be 'on the flat' like London.......it certainly ain't!!!

It's quite a small city, the Architecture is fabulous and the museums, art galleries, etc. are all well within walking distance of each other.

It's my favourite city in UK.

I rate Kelvingrove for the architecture and art....has a Dali so I'm happy.

Followed by lunch at Mother India.

Love Mother India Eccles... Do try them for lunch March Hare, if you like Indian food you wont be disappointed

Mazie, it is some of the best Indian food I have ever had!

I love the fact that they serve small dishes so you can create your own Thali.

Take train at queen street , come to Edinburgh for the day....

The Burrell Collection at Pollock Park is the best park of Glasgow. And as NJ recommends, any of the main routes out. When we visited the guide on the open-top tour bus had the same view.

Thanks to those of you who gave helpful suggestions - rather than just advising we travel elsewhere!!! Not at all interested in inanimate museums/art galleries as per question, but some of the suggestions are great - thank you

Sorry M-H, I was being a bit naughty. I went to Glasgow in 1967 and have not been back since. I imagine it's changed a little since then. If it has not my original advice stands !!! :-)

keep you occupied

otherwise the most interesting thing is probably the airport on the way out.

How about the open top bus tour, I have done these in a few cities and they are usually quite fascinating any to see the city.

History/Architecture/Anything that can only be seen in Glasgow ...... Just not museums unless very interactive ........ Not especially interested in art galleries

We always do the open-top bus tour when we go to any new city.

Failing that, you could always go and see my MIL.....

There's an inter-active Ship type museum thingy at Braehead, went once, cost a fortune to go in though.
